She recalls episodes from the time the girls met, liked and hated each other, shared their insecurities and differences. Julias flat mate is Amy, a witty and wealthy South African who comes to Sweden to study but in general she just wants good time. They are joined by Hasnaa, born in Sweden but refusing to accept European culture and insisting on being only Moroccan like her parents. As Julia falls in love with a cool and funky Dane, she sees herself as a future Scandinavian wife with a beautiful house and sweet blond children, but things don’t go according to the plan either for her of for the other girls. They are forced to share not only the flat, but also their fears, beliefs, and temperaments. Crammed between heritage and the society around them, together and on their own the girls try to find a way to move ahead in their lives.
